This week

On Sunday Oct 18, my Mother in Law, after a very long battle with ALS took a very drastic turn for the worse. Her breathing became extremely labored, oxygen levels very low, and we knew that the end was near.
On Oct. 23 Mom passed away peacefully after her brave fight against ALS. It has been a very hard couple weeks, and now life must go on without her.

KIDS

CALLING ALL SCRAPBOOKING HOPEFULS!
DO you want to try to create your first scrapbooking page? Keep coming back this week, and my son Eric and I will post a sketch and picture of a sample Thanksgiving layout. While you're waiting for the sketch, I want you to think about why you like this holiday, and what you are thankful for. Have 3 pictures developed from Thanksgiving. I'll be back in a couple days!

Weekly update

It was a busy weekend, Saturday I hosted Thanksgiving dinner for my immediate family-my stepdaughter Juelle, grandson Kristian, hubby-John, and our son Eric. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, sweet potato pie, broccoli cheese dish, and of course pumpkin pie.
On Sunday we went to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner with my brother, sis-in-law, and nephews. Monday ended up being clean up the house and catch up on sleep day.

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE
This week I challenge you scrapbookers to record the traditions of this holiday, why you are thankful this year, your favorite part of the gathering, who was there, the dishes that are traditionally cooked, etc. Scrapbooking is recording the fine details of special holidays like Thanksgiving. I will hopefully have my layout of this challenge up by the end of this upcoming weekend. My mom has started to stray away from some of our traditional dishes for the sake of convenience, which I found really upsetting. It made me realize just how important those traditions are to me, and to keep them going in my own family.

If you have any stories of Thanksgiving feasts, traditions, etc I hope that you will share them!
